The entrepreneur started out in the travel industry where he ran his company founded in 1981. After the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in New York, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania, Howard decided to give back by joining the Georgia State Defense Force and helped during in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina devastated that region.
