Angelina Jolie represents the epitome of what most women hate. She has the looks, the allure and the smirk of what every man wants. Men are forced to lie to their lovers and wives when asked, “Do you think Angelina is that sexy?” As the daughter of Hollywood insider and actor John Voigt, Jolie was no stranger to the ways of starlets – their rises and falls from the vaunted limelight.
Jolie cut her teeth as a model and appeared in a number of music videos along the way. But the accomplished actress did have some impressive training in the acting field. She studied and performed stage work at the Lee Strasburg Theater Institute and she also appeared in a number theater productions for the University of Southern California's drama department.
Jolie's automatic enemies cannot deny she practices her art with a purpose. Along the way, she has collected multiple SAG Awards, multiple Golden Globe Awards, multiple Emmy Awards and earned an Oscar for her portrayal of a Jack Nicholson-type character in 'Girl, Interrupted.' Even though the award ceremonies became a standard for her performances, she hit the big money as her portrayal of Laura Croft. It may be that men are just drawn to women in tight clothes that can fire automatic weapons swinging from the ceilings, but we will never know. She has moved on to more sanguine roles.
After a couple of wild attempts at marriage, Jolie settled down with her co-start of the wildly popular movie Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Although Brad Pitt and Angelina have yet to make it official, rumors are now abound that the couple plan an August wedding in 2012.
Jolie and Pitt have multiple residences around the world. In addition to their biological children, the couple have adopted a number of other children from other parts of the world. With Jolie's commitment to humanitarian efforts through the United Nations, the couple spend a good part of each year and a substantial amount of their earnings on philanthropy.
