The first thing anyone should do is think about anyone...anyone you know....personally.... that has the name Bubba. Now it should match up pretty well with the list of people you know personally that have won the Masters golf tournament in Augusta. Improbable, yes. Impossible, just happened.
Bubba Watson, a product of Baghdad, Florida just stuck the 2012 Masters title in his quiver. Of all the lefties in the field, most folks would have gone with Phil Mickelson – the constant irritant of a Tiger who was lost in the woods last week. But this lefty slings a pink Ping driver that some down south don't cotton up to.
The self-taught, longest driver in the PGA shrugs with the idea that a major comes only after hours at practice and long strategic sessions with the psychologist. He prefers jet-skiing. His method is simple. Hit the damn ball as hard as possible and put that sucker in the hole as soon as possible. There are few that can doubt the six-foot-four inch Watson, who cried like a baby with his inaugural major, deserves that green jacket. Momcakes was there to give him support.
The former baseball player had earned the distinction of a Masters champion after he was forced into a playoff in the last round. Seeing as how he couldn't hit it straight, Watson relied on his left hooking ball to get him out of trouble during the second hole of the playoff against Louis Oosthuizen. The shot – which came off the famed Augusta pine straw - hooked forty feet left and 110 yard forward before coming to rest on the 10th green for a par on the second playoff hole.
Watson has played with the big boys for six years as a PGA pro. Including the recent Major, he has accumulate four PGA tour wins. The Florida native was actually named after Hall of Fame professional football player Bubba Smith.
Bubba Watson is the longest driving golfer on the PGA Tour and his blonde wife Angie Watson is an amazing 6 feet 4 inches. On the course and off the course, Bubba goes big!
