William Raymond Norwood Jr. has the an advantage with the lineage stock of talent that his family possesses. The musician, producer and actor is a first cousin of Snoop Dogg and the younger brother of Brandy, who most have been introduced to as Moesha. His stage name of Ray J. has carried his message through several recording projects and his entry into the television and film business.
Like most folks, Ray J. started his visual career doing commercials. His on-screen presence of cute and clean cut provided opportunities such as a stint with Sinbad as his foster son on The Sindbad show. The hand off to his sister's show was an easy task.
But Ray started to develop his singing and music writing talent in early 2000. By 1997, he worked with the Electra label and released his debut album Everything You Wanted that climbed up the charts respectably. By 2001, he cut his sophomore work with his popular sister Brandy called This Ain't a Game. It's popularity in Europe give the burgeoning artist room to feel that music would propel him further. He has since released three more albums that have garnered limited success but allowed Ray J to secure a solid backer with a multi-million dollar contract.
In early 2009, Ray J launched a reality television series bio-documenting his life story called For the Love of Ray J. With the help of Brandy and her independent reality series, the duo have partnered in both music and television to capture behind the scenes actions that musicians go through.
Ray J has been known to like, if not love, the ladies. He has been involved with Kim Kardashian and more recently with the late Whitney Houston.
