Courtney Michelle Harrison is mainly known as the wife of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, but she also makes a good living as a singer, songwriter, musician, actress and visual artist.
Love was born in San Francisco, California and was the daughter of psychotherapist Linda Carroll and publisher Hank Harrison. She was born in a renowned family, since her grandmother was Paula Fox. The identity of Linda Carroll’s father was never known, but there is plenty of speculation that her father is Marlon Brando.
Courtney Love struggled while growing up. Her mother claimed that her father fed LSD to Love as a child, giving custody to Carroll when they divorced in 1969. Love continued to have problems growing up and had troubles in school, especially making friends was not easy for the now superstar. Courtney Love was also diagnosed with a mild form of autism at the age of nine.
The diagnosis of autism was not the only thing that Love struggled with, since there is a long history of substance abuse from a very young age. She already tried cocaine at the age of 19 and became addicted to heroin in the early nineties. Many people claim that Love was still using when she was pregnant with daughter Frances. Frances was placed into temporary custody with Love’s sister.
Before Kurt Cobain, love was married briefly to James Moreland. There was a rumor that Moreland was a transvestite and this ended in an annulment filed by Love herself. Courtney Love still make the most money out of her relationship and marriage to Kurt Cobain. After Cobain’s suicide, many fans started to hate Courtney Love. However, the hatred had made Courtney Love one of the most famous people in the world.
