Tom Selleck is a world famous actor and movie producer. He is currently best known for his role as Thomas Magnum in the Magnum P.I. television series from the 1980s and recently appeared in Blue Bloods as Commissioner Frank Raegan. Selleck has played many roles in his life, leading to more than fifty movies and television shows.
Selleck was born in Detroit, Michigan and led a pretty normal life. He grew up with his parents and siblings in Sherman Oaks, California and graduated from high school in 1962. Selleck mainly did modeling to fund his way through University, but was also awarded a basketball scholarship.
Tom has been married two times. His first marriage was to model Jacqueline Ray. The couple did not have any children together, but Selleck did adopt her son Kevin Shepard during their marriage. The marriage lasted from 1971 to 1982. Five years later, Selleck remarried to Jillie Mack. The couple had one daughter, Hannah Margaret Selleck, born on December 16, 1988. The family currently has several residences in Fallbrook, Freedom and Thousand Oaks California.
Although Selleck seems to lead a picture perfect life, he has been criticized for supporting the NRA, The National Rifle Association. Their primary goal is protecting and defending the United States constitution, but only focusses on one part of it, the right to bear arms. Selleck is a member of the Board of Directors for the NRA and is also its public spokesperson. He also donated the rifle he used in Quigley Down Under to the organization and six other weapons he used in films.
Tom Selleck also has an outspoken opinion about politics. He claims he does not support one faction or another, but did publically endorse John McCain during his campaign to become the next president of the United States.
